I haven't just studied these languages. I have lived them.
My life has unfolded across Europe — years in Italy, Switzerland and Belgium — before I made my home here in Indiana. I speak five languages: Italian, French, German, English and Albanian. Each one opened a door to a culture, a way of thinking, a version of myself I couldn't have found otherwise. That is what I want to hand to you.
I have taught German, Italian, French and English in private schools and language schools, and most recently served as a high-school teacher of French and English in German-speaking Switzerland. My work draws on literature and on linguistics (Second Language Acquisition), and it comes alive through task-based language teaching. Every lesson is built around something real to do: order the coffee, tell your story, make that phone call. A language is not a mere school subject: it is the ability to say who you are — to express your thoughts, your humor, your emotions in another tongue, and to be truly understood.
